--------------------------------------------- PLANET ANOMALY UPDATE 2004 #15-2 (issued 18-Aug, 9:30 UT) --------------------------------------------- OGLE-2004-BLG-482 Trailing limb caustic exit in about 24h Dear Colleagues, Latest PLANET data from LaSilla and Tasmania confirm our earlier interpretation that the source has entered the central caustic. The event is now right at peak magnification ~3 mag above baseline. Our current analysis, based on finite source (including limbdarkening) models by M.Dominik, A.Cassan and P.Fouque, predicts that the trailing limb will exit the caustic around MHJD = 3236.95, i.e. in about 24h. Dense photometric and multiband (respectively spectroscopic) observations are highly encouraged! Event: OGLE 2004-BLG-482 RA (J2000): 17:57:30.60 Dec (J2000): -30:51:30.1 For more information: PLANET: http://planet.iap.fr/currentevents.html OGLE: http://www.astrouw.edu.pl/~ftp/ogle/ogle3/blg-482.html -------------- On behalf of the PLANET collaboration, Daniel Kubas %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% If you prefer not to receive further PLANET Anomaly Alerts, please send an e-mail to planet@iap.fr.
