--------------------------------------------- PLANET ANOMALY UPDATE 2004 #15-3 (issued 20-Aug, 7:30 UT) --------------------------------------------- Caustic passage over Dear Colleagues, over the last few days PLANET has been able to follow event OGLE 2004-BLG-482 over a caustic passage of the target star, likely to be an M5III giant, with observations taken with the Danish 1.54m telescope at ESO LaSilla (Chile), the Canopus 1.0m telescope near Hobart (Tasmania, Australia), and the Rockefeller 1.5m telescope at Boyden Observatory (South Africa). Model parameters depend somewhat on the interpretation of the effects of varying observing conditions on the data, but in general yield a passage duration of about 2.44 d, where the source sweeps over the caustic from HJD = 2453234.57 (17-Aug, 1:45 UT) until HJD = 2453237.01 (19-Aug, 12:15 UT). Event: OGLE 2004-BLG-482 RA (J2000): 17:57:30.60 Dec (J2000): -30:51:30.1 For more information: PLANET: http://planet.iap.fr/currentevents.html OGLE: http://www.astrouw.edu.pl/~ftp/ogle/ogle3/blg-482.html -------------- On behalf of the PLANET collaboration, Martin Dominik %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% If you prefer not to receive further PLANET Anomaly Alerts, please send an e-mail to planet@iap.fr.
