--------------------------------------------- PLANET ANOMALY UPDATE 2005 #6-1 (issued 4-Jul, 04:43:16 UTC) --------------------------------------------- OGLE 2005-BLG-331 binary source binary lens vs triple lens Dear Colleagues, After being alerted by the OGLE-team about a possible second caustic entry. Planet observations with the Danish 1.5 (LaSilla) and the Canopus 1.0m (Hobart) confirm this interpretation opening at least two fascinating scenarios: 1) A binary source lensed by a binary lens 2) A single source lensed by (at least) a triple lens. Needless to say that follow up photometric and spectroscopic observations are strongly encouraged at all costs to constrain the parameter space of this unique event. A light curve plot and data files for this event are available on our webpage, which is frequently updated. Event: OGLE 2005-BLG-331 RA (J2000): 17:50:09.60 Dec (J2000): -29:36:41.2 The baseline I magnitude reported by the OGLE team is 19.1 For more information: PLANET: http://planet.iap.fr OGLE: http://www.astrouw.edu.pl/~ftp/ogle/ -------------- On behalf of the PLANET collaboration Daniel Kubas %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% If you prefer not to receive further PLANET Anomaly Alerts, please send an e-mail to planet@iap.fr.
