--------------------------------------------- PLANET ANOMALY UPDATE 2006 #14-1 (issued 17-Aug, 14:05 UT) --------------------------------------------- OGLE 2006-BLG-450 falling Dear Colleagues, recent PLANET data collected with the Canopus 1.0m (near Hobart, Tasmania) show OGLE 2006-BLG-450 falling between HJD=2453964.853 (17-Aug, 8:28 UT) and HJD=2453964.987 (17-Aug, 11:41 UT), after a strong rise was observed by PLANET and OGLE from South Africa and Chile. Since the characteristic slope discontinuity marking the end of a fold-caustic exit has not been observed (yet) and a currently poorly determined blend ratio for the Tasmanian data does not allow an unambiguous alignment with other data sets, the nature of the peak is still uncertain. Therefore, further frequent monitoring is encouraged. A light curve plot as well as data are available on our webpages. Event: OGLE 2006-BLG-450 RA (J2000): 17:52:00.47 Dec (J2000): -31:07:36.3 The baseline I magnitude reported by the OGLE team is 18.869 +/- 0.003.
