Happy Birthday John W. Menzies!!

Despite our geographical disparity, John's colleagues of the PLANET collaboration want to celebrate this very special birthday, by reviewing our past few years together:

In 1997:

Through some rainy times
when one often had to make do with whatever was available,
and at times even deal with angry mobs. Throughout all,
John was at the front of the battle line.

In 1998:

When were beginning to catch the wind in our sails
John always knew what was most important.
He could handle the most interesting of creatures,
which proved a much needed skill.

In 1999:

A year when PLANET began to really pick up speed,
John didn't rock the boat , but instead
offered a different point of view, undeterred by the
occasional encounter with a confrontational colleague.

And so, dear John, we wish you the most delightful of birthdays, and look forward to continuing the search with you as one of our trusted guides.
